James J. Fasy, DDS, MScD
Dr. James Fasy is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Georgetown University School of Dentistry, with honors. Upon graduation from Georgetown he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, and received the Morris Horowitz award for combined academic and clinical excellence.
Dr. Fasy then served in the US Navy Dental Corps where he practiced all aspects of general dentistry and directed the preventive dentistry activities at the Newport, RI Naval Station.
He received his certification in orthodontics and master’s degree from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. For more than 30 years he has provided evidence-based excellence in orthodontics for his extended family of patients in Swansea, MA.
While maintaining an active clinical practice, Dr. Fasy has kept an academic interest in all aspects of orthodontics. He has lectured on a wide range of topics, including “Selecting Class III Patients for Successful Protraction Therapy in the Early Mixed Dentition,” “Maxillary Protraction Therapy, A Long Term Evaluation,” “Adult Orthodontics, What Are the Limits?” “Optimal Orthodontic Treatment Timing,” and “Maxillary Vertical Excess, Orthodontic and Surgical Correction.”
Dr. Fasy has served as president of the Angle East, which is the eastern component of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Fasy and his wife, Anne Marie, have five children and seven grandchildren who keep them active. He enjoys all sports and outdoor activities, particularly golfing, biking, running, kayaking, landscaping, and travel.
